Overview of resource:
There are two routes for this work. They could be completed one after the other, but the recommendation is to select the project route which best suits your classroom set-up & equipment. Route 1 is best suited to KS2/KS3 and Route 2 is best suited to KS3.
Route 1 does not require any digital software and enables students to explore the genre of house music through some guided listening tasks and composing activities using pitched instruments such as keyboards, glockenspiels or xylophones
Route 2 includes resources for composing original House music tracks using digital software and is specifically modelled using the DAW LogicProX. Other DAWs such as Garageband would also be suitable
Both routes offer an opportunity to create a live event to share students’ work
